Noah's oldest brother (Jaben and Rachael) came this weekend from Illinois with his family. Their oldest is Ethan's age and her name is Eliana...so we call them E squared...how cute is this picture!! They had their chain because they were going to catch some cats. By the end of their first day together they were calling each other best friends...I love it!!

Rocky River Vineyard

A couple of weeks ago we went to a wedding in Midland. There's a vineyard that's been there for a while but they started doing weddings there. It was absolutely beautiful...and of course...their wines were awesome.

And of course, Emilie had an ear and sinus infection! I think she cried her whole party...which is not like her.

Her aunt Hosanna made this beautiful cake from scratch. You have to look closely, right under the flowers is a princess crown.

I couldn't resist buying these decorations for her high chair...

Last Saturday we went to a birthday party for C.J. and Avery Blackburn. We were there for 2 hours and Ethan fished for the last hour. They had hay rides and food and he was only interested in fishing. All the kids that came dressed up...Ethan came as Noah.

Emilie came as a little monkey...or chunky monkey...whatever.
Here are all the kids...you can see Ethan in the middle behind Snow White playing a yellow recorder that he won fishing. Emilie is in front but you can't see her face because the monkey hat is covering it.

This week Noah is away in Connecticut. So we are traveling around in the evenings each night eating dinner with our friends. Last night we ate dinner with the Hasty's and then we had some bath time fun!!

Last night Emilie kept crying after I put her in her crib, this is not like her. So when I went to check on her this is what I found.....In case you can't see, that dark ball is our new addition to our family....our cat Mercy.

A Week with the Fam

Emilie fell asleep in "IE's" arms (that's what Ethan calls my mom).

Noah came to visit us in the middle of the week. He thought it would be fun to feed Emilie some watermelon. She loved it.
Ethan always helps IE cook. This morning he helped make blueberry pancakes.
This is one of the benefits of having a boy.

In Danville we have a trail to walk and ride bikes on.

This is Noah's grandma. She is in her late 80's and still kickin'.

Another one of Ethan's favorite things to do is feed the birds in my parents bird sanctuary. It's even more fun when you just have a shirt and boots on.

Ethan is king of the outdoors!

Bike Riding

A couple of weeks ago (when it was a lot cooler) we rode our bikes on the Greenway. We have a trailer that we hook up to the bikes. We strapped Emilie in there but I couldn't get a picture because my camera died.

We had to take a break to throw rocks in the creek.

On Wednesdays we have been going to the AMC theaters for free movies. One of the theaters is near a fountain. It was perfect for a hot summer day.

Road Trip...

At the beginning of June we went to see Auntie Ali. She lives in Virginia Beach so, of course, we went to the beach everyday. He would have played all day!

The Last Day

The last day we were there we went to one of their nice parks. This particular park had a little water park in it.
Ethan and Eliana had so much fun running around in the water. It was hot that day but the water was still cold.

This is Emilie and Dylan. Dylan is about 3 months older than Emilie. The sun was very bright in Vegas even though there were clouds that day.

My Crazy Girl

Emilie decided she was going to start rolling on her side while we were in Vegas.
She also decided that she would start sleeping with the blanket over face. It's now a month later and that's the only way she'll go to sleep.

Red Rock Canyon

Ethan fell asleep on our way to Red Rock. The sunglasses were so far down on his nose he was snoring. It was hi-larious!!

Vegas Baby

I know it's been a while but a lot has has the past couple of months. For starters we went to visit Jaben, Noah's brother, that lives in Las Vegas. They live about 20 minutes from the strip. It was so much fun. Ethan and Emilie did great flying. DVD players were the best thing ever invented!! We got a baby sitter one night to watch the children so we could go see the strip. The lights were beautiful. We had about 4 dollars to try on the machines....that was gone in 5 minutes. Let's just say I would not make a good gambler.
This was outside of the Venetian. This is where Rachael, Jaben's wife, works.

He Is Risen!!!

We spent Easter weekend with our family. Papa and Nana were able to come down and spend the night. We cooked ham and the fixings on Sunday. We were stuffed!
Emilie enjoyed spending time with the grandparents. She especially enjoyed talking to Nana. Nana is already planning stamping time for the two of them.
Ethan was so excited about his candy. So excited that he had to eat two suckers at the same time. We put in his Easter basket a mesh bug holder. We took him to the Greenway to ride his bike on Sunday. He found about 8 catepillars to put in "the cage" as he called it.

Good Friday

We had the privilege on April 6th, Good Friday, to go to Tiffany Blackburn and Andy Porter's wedding. It was such a special time. At weddings we get to see how it will be when we see the Lord. The Groom is always overjoyed when he gets to see his Bride. No words can even describe how we will feel in that moment. I can't wait for that day.
Zoe looked so beautiful walking down the aisle throwing the rose petals.

Easter Egg Fun

Ethan helped me decorate eggs for Easter. It has been such a blessing to see him grow up and experience making memories with him. I remember decorating eggs with my mom and sister. It was funny how quickly making Easter eggs came back to me.

Girls Weekend

Last weekend we went to Auntie Ali in Virginia Beach. It was just Emilie and I. We had such a great time relaxing and doing nothing.
We took Emilie to her first Women's Conference. She enjoyed listening to the speaker and the loud music. She even got to experience her first fashion show.

For Ethan's 3rd birthday we bought him a bike. By the second day he was gone. He loves wearing his helmet because that's what daddy does when he rides his bike. Noah already has plans of putting him in a race this fall. We'll probably start training Ethan this summer.

Since I just started my blog in February, I have to catch up. Here are some cute pictures of Ethan that I couldn't resist sharing with everyone.
This first one is from our 2006 beach trip. He had so much fun that he passed out watching T.V. That never happens.
Here he took all of his cars and lined them up. He had to have them all exactly the same space apart.
Thanks to Eileen he got to bring out his cowboy roots.

Happy Valentine's Day

Emilie went for her two month check-up today. She had to get 3 shots but she did so well. She now weighs 12 lbs. 5 oz.(75% percentile) and 23in. long(75% percentile). She hasn't gotten any longer since her 1 month check-up but she's gained 2 pounds!

It's My Birthday, Got My Car Fixed....

Yeah! Today is Ethan's 3rd birthday. So I think I will just be lazy and lay around watching the "Cars" movie. We are going to take him to get a bike tonight. He doesn't know but he'll be excited once he realizes we're taking the bike home. Last night we went to a birthday party for someone else and he couldn't stop talking about it. We are going to celebrate his birthday later this month with the family. He really wants to wear a birthday hat.

Faster Than Lightning

Noah has been racing on his mountain bike for the past several years. It has been a blessing to see him grow. I remember the first race. It was on a farm in Virginia. Everyone parked their vehicles in a field. Noah wore cut off camo pants and a white t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. He even got a medal. The next race he didn't even wear a shirt. I really admire Noah for his hard work and dedication for preparing for the races. He rides his bike 16 miles (one way) to work 3 to 4 times a week. He even humbled himself this race series and raced Super Sport when he normally
races Sport, just to challenge himself. What an example!

Here is Emilie Kate Pennell. In the top picture she was only a few minutes old. She was born at 5:12 a.m. on Thursday December, 14 2006, 7 lbs. 12 oz., 20 inches long. In the bottom picture she is 7 weeks old, 10 lbs. 11 oz, 231/4 inches long. She is a happybaby, still adjusting to being in the world. Ethan is very loving to her.

Ethan's First Snow!

Ethan is going to be 3 years old next week. He has never seen snow. When I got Ethan up this morning I went into his room and opened his blinds. The first thing he said....SNOW!
